Department Leadership

Michael Dickerson is the director of the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections. He is responsible for administering the election process for the U.S. citizens of Mecklenburg County, including voter administration, precinct management, absentee and early voting, candidate registration, and campaign finance. 

He joined the County in 1998 as director. Previously, he served as a deputy assistant staff director for the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C. 

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from Guilford College.
